Big Chairs for Big Boys

After Ben having a hard time kneeling on our regular dining table chairs and having his feet fall asleep at every meal, we moved him onto our travel booster seat strapped onto a chair. Unfortunately that was incredibly difficult and seemingly unsafe for him to climb in and out of. While in Ohio Ben loved sitting in the Talbot's youth chair which was something of a cross between an adult-sized dining chair and a high chair - sans tray. Mrs. Talbot had told me that she found it at a yard sale many years before and hadn't seen anything like it since. Not to be discouraged, we decided to look around and see what we could find and here it is....The Euro II Grow With Me Chair.

We actually got a chair for each of the boys which now means we can all sit at the table together without Sam off to the side in his high chair. And it also means that we now have two regular dining chairs open for the meals when we have company in town. In other words, nobody having to sit in a tiny chair at the boys' play table or eating while standing at the counter.

So far, the chairs have gone over quite well with both boys. Ben really likes being able to climb in and out on his own. And Sam is a more focused eater (less food being intentionally dropped on the floor) because he is right next to me at the table.

One of the biggest selling points of these chairs is that you can adjust the height of the seat platform and the footrest platform. The chair will literally grow with your child and will even hold an adult up to 150 pounds!

The boys were also excited to help put the chairs together and then "build" a house using the empty boxes.

The Euro II Grow With Me Chair fully assembled.

Ben in his new chair wearing his worker gear - I'm not sure why he needed his cooking apron to build.

Building a new house.

Sam checking out the new house while Ben fixes the roof.

Peekaboo!

Also in a apron - just like big brother.

Still fixing the roof.

Too cute not to share.

Prince Sam - we figured out that the inside of the yellow hard hat can be removed and doubled as a crown.

  1. Cool chairs. They remind me of Stokke's Tripp Trapp chair, which I'd like to get for Graham. He's been in a travel high chair that straps to one of our chairs - the only high chair we've owned - but in the past week he's been fighting going in it and I think he's ready for more of a big boy chair. Maybe I'll look for one of the euro chairs in Crete.

Your boys are ADORABLE, as always!

  2. Courtney,
We looked at the Stokke chair....this was less than half the price and got great reviews. We found it on the Leaps and Bounds website.
I can't wait to hear how your move to Crete goes! Good luck!
