The boys enjoyed listening to some stories read by one of their favorite librarians, Mr. John, then joined another favorite librarian, Robin, to do some holiday crafts. They both made pipe cleaner wreath ornaments decorated with beads. They also got to decorate shortbread cookies with frosting and candies to make cookie wreaths. Ben tasted his cookie and Sam devoured his!
After cookies we headed out to meet the jolliest elf in the world and his significant other. The boys let go of the uncertainty they've had in the past when it's been time to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. Sam eagerly went first and told Santa he wanted cheese and crackers - something Santa said he had never heard before as a gift request. Then Ben took his turn and said he'd like a train set (funny that we already have one) and a teddy bear named Benny (funny that he has a Build-A-Bear puppy named Benny). It's also funny that apparently Ben told Mrs. Claus about the teddy bear when she visited his preschool last week but we just heard about the bear a day or two ago.
Mrs. Claus was as kind and charming as St. Nick and the boys were sent away with Christmas wishes and mini candy canes.
Listening intently to Mr. John.
If only they were this loving with each other all the time.
Sam and Santa.
Ben and Santa.
Merry Christmas to all!
